The room is dark.
Lightning flashes, thunder roars.
I am wrapped up in the covers of my bed.
Shivering out of fear and cold.
Sweat broke out on my brow
It came closer, engulfing me
I opened my mouth to scream
Yet no sound came out
I closed my eyes and opened it slowly
The scene has passed, it was just a movie
The tension eases, the fear subsides
Everything becomes clearer, it was just a dream
I guess that is what happens when you are addicted to the idol called movies,
Once you get hooked, you are done for
The time, money and energy it entails is more than a relationship
Movies are like current affairs, they are updated daily.
The more you promise yourself that this is the last time.
The more intriguing and captivating the next one becomes.
From the suspense created by Premiers of movies
To the pleasure of series and joy of movies
A movie is life on its own.
A movie is addictive because it relates to you on your basic level.
It’s a book in action, a life in drama.
It takes your mind away from what is important.
Your heart from what really matters.
You are torn between your books and a movie.
Your friends and a series
But most importantly, your GOD and a TV show
It’s bad enough He has to compete with other people in your life.
Now He has to compete with pictures in motion.
Is HE that unworthy or are you the unappreciative one.
GOD should be your only idol
